We are Australian Fourth Generation Seedstock Producers and it goes back further than that in our ancestry, of breeding quality cattle & horses. What we do is breed Black Brangus Stud Cattle & have bulls, heifers & genetics available for sale. We are located about 35km from Rockhampton, Queensland, the Beef Capital of Australia! PLUS we own & run a custom designed Show/Sale Cattle preparation facility specialising in Bos Indicus & Bos Taurus cattle.

We use the latest technologies to help us to add to the top end of our herd with AI, ET & IVF whilst keeping in mind Dr Jan Bonsma's theology and really what we had both been brought up with. Cattle that must "do" in the environment that they are in. Cows that are feminine and look like they are females, that can travel and maintain a decent body score index so that they can then - go in calf regularly, they have great udders and teats, with quality of milk and that produce a quality weaner.  Bulls that are very well balanced with tremendous feet & leg structure plus have skin suitable for our environment slick coated and loose whilst still maintaining good control and tidiness in the sheath. We look for good testicle development and size without being too pendulous. Bulls that are virile, athletic, with a crest, strong head & muzzle and look like a masculine bull that will get working and cover cows whilst again adapted to the environment to be able to work and maintain body score condition.  Jeynsey's favourite quotes "bulls have to look like bulls and females have to look like females!!" 

We are not "pro or anti" any particular bloodlines from particular countries.... we are "pro" what works in the mix to breed the animals we are aiming for. We have found great performing genetics in a myriad of bloodlines and we have quickly culled any that won't perform - irrespective of the "hype" of what they should/could be. We believe in culling anything very quickly that doesn't sit with our direction - as it is much easier to nip it in the bud and remove potential issues than try and get it out of a herd later. Our cattle range from 38% Brahman upwards as we have a "secret" soft spot for Brahmans, and as we have been fortunate to base our herd on one of the founding Brangus Studs - Sunnyside we have the ability to provide a stable base to allow us to experiment with some of the top Brahman genetics in Australia. So when looking through our pedigrees there may be a few little surprises of what we like to use to get us to where we want to be in respect to these outstanding genetics to give us cattle that will thrive in Australian coastal conditions in a Cattle Tick area.

We love breeding Black Brangus Cattle. Focusing on Cow Families, Commercial "real world" market suitability, fertility & production. Plus we LOVE the comradery and satisfaction that comes with showing Brangus that are phenotypically pleasing to the eye. Lifes' to short to breed ugly cattle - that's why we choose Brangus!

Our cattle are educated with bikes, ATV, horses, people a menagerie of animals and are worked through the yards and are taught clear boundaries.

We value greatly the advancements in data BUT we also believe you can't beat a "good eye" for cattle, with a great temperament and who do the job from a "real world" perspective. For us the most important data is where the animal comes from - what those important cow lines have done, how they stood up in the drought, what their siblings have achieved and so on. We do not believe in chasing single trait nor do we make assessments on one "angle". We are always looking to the future for advancements in genetics and technology whilst continuing with real world experience and records. As quoted by PJ Budler "Paper Tiger" cattle for us just can't be beaten by taking into account the whole picture with real world experiences and a great cattle person's eye.

We are a family who every day are grateful for being blessed for where we are, who we have in our tribe and what we look out to see each day.  We've been up a few "dry gullies" and this has fuelled our passion even more for doing the things that we love and helping others to do the same.

We love encouraging youth into cattle and the show-ring and our children all hold special spots in the business. You may not see them inside the show-ring but they won't be far away.
